Terence Fogarty – Associate | CISA, CRISC, CISSP

He is a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk & Information Systems Control (CRISC) and a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP – Associate). He holds B.Sc. in Computer Science (UKZN) and a BCom Honours in Information Systems & Technology (UKZN). Terence is the Events Coordinator for the ISGA (Information Security Group of Africa) (Durban Chapter). He is a full member of Information Systems Audit and Control Association (ISACA), serving as both the ISACA SA KZN Coordinator and the ISACA SA Webmaster. Terence is currently involved in many ISACA SA initiatives such as IT Governance structures and policy development.

His knowledge and work experience is within the IT Governance, IT Risk, IT Security & IT Audit fields within the following industries: Insurance and Wealth management, Medical, Legal practices, Electronics retail, Health and safety, Education, Industrial and automotive products, Construction/building registration, Investment management, Logistics, Mining and manufacture, Municipalities, Software development, and Government.

Terence has an in-depth knowledge of IT Governance using frameworks such as COBIT, ITIL, COSO, Risk IT, Val IT, TOGAF, ISO 27001/2, ISO 38500, SOX and King 3. He has performed IT Audits, IT Governance, IT Disaster Recovery, IT Change Control reviews for multiple organisations within South Africa. Terence also has performed data analytics of asset management data, financial data, application information and payroll data to assist organisations in determining potential fraud or oversight using different industry standard tools.
